Charlie Watts – “Problems on his mind”

In keeping with Charlie Watts’ laconic mien, I’ll keep this post brief. Sixty-one years ago, during the Rolling Stones’ first New Zealand tour in 1965, an astute newspaperman in Wellington deciphered Charlie in just 68 words. Plenty of words have been written about the “Wembley whammer” since, but none as perceptive as these. Happy 85th birthday, old chap, wherever you are.
